The brief for Pip McCully and Georgina Armstrong at Wonder was indeed brief – they were given the venue name and the theme of Spanish interiors. What a fantastic place to start. The first stop for inspiration was to research the restaurants and streets of Barcelona to create a warm and textural feel to the interior.
The original timber flooring of the sheds has been used throughout with the insertion of patterned terracotta tiles to the outdoor dining and entries. Olive green concrete tiles clad the exterior walls accented with antique gold signage and black iron furniture. To further emphasise the Bohemian feel the low-lit interior is lined with dusty pink velvet curtains and dark timber wall panels. The banquette seating is upholstered in a soft nutmeg leather, and the feature bar is clad in cream penny round mosaics with calcutta marble benchtops and bronze mirror shelving beyond. Sounds Bohemian indeed.
Diners can expect a friendly and intimate atmosphere that surprises and delights whether you enjoy the communal dining or prefer to sit at the bar soaking up the atmosphere and feeling inspired to plan a European holiday.
