A large majority of people who work with the Darcys often stay with the family for years and work across a number of venues. Belinda is one of these faithful employees and has worked with the Darcys over three venues in nine years.
After starting her working life as a butcher she realised that it was ‘not the most feminine job in the world’ and even though she excelled in butchery decided she would prefer to work with people than be tucked away behind the scenes in cool rooms and freezers. Working as the Venue Manager at Melbourne Public is the perfect job for Belinda, swearing she will always work in hospitality and never leave the industry.
With a nod to her butcher’s past, Belinda’s favourite dish at Melbourne Public is the ‘awesome’ burger and her eyes literally light up when she talks about it. Angus Beef, tomato, lettuce, cheese, onion, bacon, mayo and a healthy serve of beer battered fries – now that is a lady who loves her food!
