Chris McDonald is an experienced venue manager who hails from Brisbane. After spending years in London opening restaurants and bars he knew he had to move to Melbourne if he was to fulfill his passion for food and wine. Since arriving four years ago Chris has worked in Melbourne restaurants and has not been disappointed with what the Australian capital of food and wine has offered so far.
Chris has now moved slightly downstream along the Yarra from Leftbank Melbourne to Bohemian and teamed up with the two Michelin star Spanish chef, Josep Espuga. Together they are cooking up amazing, authentic and contemporary Spanish dishes. The 14-hour, slow cooked suckling pig with carrot ice-cream is, so far, just one of the favourites. When you visit be sure to ask Chris about the ever-changing specials of tapas favourites like patatas bravas through to polenta crumbed hapuka with red cabbage yoghurt and braised corn. Delicious!
